So if you saw my last post, you know that I’m pregnant with baby girl number 3!! I couldn’t be more excited to be designing a girl nursery. The plan is to go pretty out of the box for a typical girl nursery. There will definitely be pink…but no pastels found here! I’m giving up my home office to be the nursery, so while the baby will be sleeping in here, it’s going to have the bold, glam design that I wanted for my office.
A Bold Glam Little Girl Nursery
We are starting from scratch in this space, so I’m excited to do a true “Before & After” for you guys! This design incorporates a lot of my favorite things in life: black and white stripes, saturated color, gold finishes, watercolor florals, and leopard print.
It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, and I’ve already had a couple people look at me like I’m crazy! I’m a firm believer in doing what you love (and not doing themed kids rooms! Ha!), so I’m going for it!
The to-do list is long for this project. I’m typing this at my desk in the “nursery”, so the room still needs to be emptied and the furniture sold. Then,
- paint the walls
- make and hang curtains
- buy dresser, rocker, and other furniture
- art & accessories
I know I just made that list look short, but there are a lot of steps in there! And mama’s pregnant. Putting the mood board together really made me exited to get started though. If you’re curious where anything on the mood board is from, I’ve put together the links for you below. Note: some of these links are affiliate links, which means I make a very small commission if you purchase anything, There is no extra cost to you.
- mirror
- etagere
- black and white floral art
- abstract floral print
- abstract stripes print
- black and white bow print
- glider
- side table
- leopard pillow
- curtains
- fabric to make your own curtains
- dresser
- crib
