I’m sure you’ve read in a magazine somewhere that one way to figure out your home decorating style is to take a look at your closet. The colors, patterns and styles you like to wear could also be what you would like to live in every day. Now I must say, I don’t find this to be totally true in my own closet right now. I have a lot of neutrals, and I used to have a lot of black, which you won’t find much of in my home. BUT, I must say that when I think about my very favorite outfit in my closet right now, it’s a black and white striped top with a bright blue blazer, jeans, and leopard print flats. So maybe this concept holds true after all?

Fashion Inspired Interiors: Feminine Office

Recently I was scrolling through Instagram and this photo by Julia of LemonStripes just stopped me in my tracks. I love this outfit. I would wear this outfit. So I thought it would be fun to put together a design concept based off of it. Words that came to mind when I was studying this outfit were feminine, classic, and chic. I think you’ll find that the same words apply to the office design below!

I tried to keep the ratios of the elements in the outfit the same as the elements in the design concept. Blue and white stripes and accessories dominate the scheme, with smaller hints of blush pink and gold. Neutral shoes do the same for an outfit that a neutral rug does for a room. The pearl necklace makes a statement as does the white desk. And of course, the pop of leopard to make the design just a little bit fabulous. Find all the feminine office sources I used below!
