Recently I’ve been working with a friend to do some decorating in her house. One of the projects is a gallery wall, and the other project I’m just starting is updating the bedding for her master bedroom. I’m also wanting to add to my poor neglected bedding in my own master, and we are both going for the same color scheme. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite blue and white bedding that I found while shopping for her!
Favorite Blue and White Bedding
Striped Euro | Toile | White Duvet | Velvet | Faux Fur | Tassel Throw
This first look combines some of my all time favorite things: stripes, French themed print, and navy. I cannot get over these toile pillows, and if my friend doesn’t want them I will probably be getting them for myself. The striped ruffled euro sham reminds me of French ticking fabric, and so feels right at home with the toile.
My friend wants a white duvet for her bed and I really like the simplicity of this one. Bonus: it’s really affordable and there is a thing called bleach, so a white duvet makes for a pretty low risk purchase.
I think texture takes a bed from nice to wow. The velvet pillow would be a great anchor for the toile while adding a lot of richness. The faux fur throw adds the cozy factor while also keeping the white bedding from feeling too stark. And because you can never have too many throws, I added the fun blue tassel throw as well.
Faux Fur | Pin Tuck Velvet | Blue and White Pattern Pillow | White Ruffle Duvet | Blue and white Fabric
I really loved the softness of this white ruffled duvet cover. I think that with the right styling it won’t feel too feminine (we’ll see if her husband agrees!). The blue velvet pin tuck euro shams are just gorgeous, and I will have a hard time choosing between them and the striped ones above.
I went for a little larger, bolder pattern on the throw pillows this time. I think it will be a nice juxtaposition to the softness of the ruffles. Again I added the faux fur throw for warmth and texture.
The blue and white spotted pattern is a fabric sample. I really wanted to add a smaller print at the end of the bed but couldn’t find anything I liked. While hunting, I learned that the piece of fabric at the end of the bed in hotels is called a bed scarf. They seem like they would be easy to make, so fabric may be an option.
A Few Key Components
I sent my friend many more options than this, but these were my favorites and the pieces that I’m considering for my own bedroom. I like to keep these things in mind while I am shopping:
- At least 2 patterns of varying style and size (large print and small print, florals and stripes, geometric and florals)
- 1-2 different textures (linen, fur, velvet, organic cotton)
- Color (fewer rules here, narrow to 2-3 or go crazy, mix muted and saturated or pick one, have fun!)

I’m really excited to get both of our beds done! Are you into calm, soothing bedding or fun, colorful bedding? (I’ve done both!)
