I’m so excited to share this front room reveal with you today! After many many months of planning and work, it’s finally finished! The transformation from dark and moody to bright and full of pattern was so fun for me. The energy in this space is so different, and it has quickly become a favorite room for the whole family.
Front Room Reveal
The Before
There is so much I could mention about the before photo, but I will stick with 2 key points:
- It is so important to do a room start to finish, or it never gets finished. That doesn’t mean it has to be done in a week. But you can’t buy some chairs one month, some art a few months later, then go buy things for your master bedroom, then start the kid’s room, and be surprised that your home doesn’t have any finished rooms. Focus. Save as much as you can and do as much as you can all at once or the design will derail and you will never finish.
- Scale is everything. The art and mirror are way too small for the walls they are on. Larger pieces would fill the wall space better and feel less cluttered/empty. The chairs might have been a decent scale for the room, but they feel huge because the rest of the room isn’t finished (see number 1 above).
Let’s move on to the after…
The After
What do you think of the transformation? I couldn’t be more pleased with the mix of color, pattern, black and white stripes, and that it’s FINISHED! A finished room is such a joy to be in. I’m sharing sources for this room below, but please let me know if you’d be interested in eDesign services, or if you’re local, would like me to help you finish your space!
