High Point Market
I think it’s safe to say we can’t stop thinking and talking about our trip to High Point market. After coming down from the initial high, we have been reviewing our favorite pieces and are starting to incorporate them into client projects.
There were lots of trends we saw that we loved and wanted to share them with you!
Curves
We love straight lines around here, they are classic and relatable to a lot of people. But if your space has too many straight lines, it can feel stiff and too angular. We always include a few pieces with rounded lines to soften the space and mix it up.
Here’s a few of our favorite pieces from High Point market with beautiful curves:
We cannot even begin to tell you how many chairs we sat in throughout our visit. Constantly up and down, we tested each one for durability and comfort. A lot of them had curves, bold patterns, or color to make a statement. Many of the styles were barrel shaped and had lower profile backs. Quite a few had a swivel feature which we loved!
Mixed Materials
We always want to mix different materials into a design, and definitely noticed a trend towards mixing materials in one piece.
This blue leather was amazing, so soft and a more feminine version of a traditional brown, black or cognac.
Art: Color and Texture
While we didn’t necessarily notice specific art trends this trip, we still had to share some of our favorite pieces from High Point market. A lot of the pieces we loved incorporated texture, such as the linen/paint piece below.
The texture and color of this piece is incredible, AND it’s on a linen canvas. Layer upon layer of texture adds so much depth to a space.
Some vintage rugs are just too beautiful to walk on, like this blue and beige piece we fell in love with.
Lighting: Texture & Mixed Materials
Lighting is one of the easiest ways to make an outdated home feel more current. We loved the new releases that showcased mixing materials as well as the textured look that is trending right now.
Leaving Inspired
We are feeling inspired and excited to create one-of-a-kind projects for clients. From the piping on a piece of furniture to the type of metal used on the bottom of a table, we cannot wait to begin to implementing all of these wonderful designs into our clients’ homes and even bring some of them into our new studio to see in person!
