It’s been a minute since we’ve shared some of our completed projects. We are taking the opportunity to reveal a Weatherby Lake living room update! It was such a delight to be able to customize some of the furnishings for this project to create a one of a kind look!
When first talking with the client, her ideal space was something that was fresh, while also feeling comfortable and calm. Keeping vintage pieces with character was also important. Every home is unique in its own way and this one offered a wonderful opportunity to mix and blend styles together and use some custom pieces along the way!
Colors in the living room reflected the lake’s many hues and changing tones of soft blues and greens. We used some subtle stripes and muted florals to add a little contrast to the softer color pallet. The leather ottoman brought a touch of masculinity and earthiness to the room while also offsetting the more subdued colors and composition of the other two sofas.

Our love for custom furniture grows more and more every time we use it in our designs. We find it to be the the most useful when trying to achieve a specific look. Selecting fabrics with colors and textures that give the exact vibe the client is going for is such a rewarding part of the design process.
Being able to choose the frame, the fabric, the texture and color, and the wood stain allows you to create the personality you want for the piece. Each piece of furniture works together to tell the story of the client’s personal style
Having a piece that is customized to your lifestyle, does not limit the possibilities, but expands them. Some of our lives include kids, a dog, or living in a location that tracks in more dust and dirt. A lot of times it can hinder the thought of ever having something nice. With options like a performance fabric, we know (from experience) that it’s possible to have something pretty and durable!
Often times finding furniture to “fit” in a specific space can take time. It may be the right style, but not the correct size. Other pieces that you can add may also be limited. Being able to have furnishings ordered to specific measurements give you many different options. With all the diverse shapes and styles from traditional to modern that we carry, we love coming up with a unique combination for each client.
Custom furnishings and textiles helped the room in Weatherby Lake flow together seamlessly. We were able to select the perfect fabrics with just the right colors and textures to compliment the art and other pieces we placed in the room.
Bringing It Together
With the intention of extending the overall feel of the living room to the kitchen and dining room, we continued to incorporate the color scheme while accessorizing. Bringing the similar colors and earth tones over helped tie everything together.
The custom sofas, window treatments, and pillows all worked together to accomplish a clean, but inviting look. We are happy that the space is unique to the client and different that any of the other homes in the area!
