Summer is halfway through and we find ourselves reaching for these pieces over and over. From accessories and layers (hello air conditioning) to our must read list, we are sharing our favorites for this summer below.
Our Current Favorites-Summer 2021
Layers
Abby’s pick for a summer layer was this linen pinstriped jacket. So far she has paired it with her olive green shorts and and wide legged jeans, but the outfit options are pretty endless. The linen is breathable for the heat and the thin navy lines give her the masculine touch she loves.
A jean jacket has also become a staple in our closet. We have found so many great ways to style them. We layer them with pretty much anything, including jeans (Canadian Tuxedo style). They are super versatile, which is why we love this piece so much.
We wore out jean jackets a lot when we were at market. They were great for the constant changing from hot to cold.
Statement Bags
Sometimes you just need your bag to be wow and these pieces definitely caught our eye.
We are noticing a lot of pleats and channeling, which makes these two bags feel extra special. Channeling is also big right now in furniture. From high end to Target, this style is being used in a variety of different ways that we are just loving. Shandy’s favorite this summer is this bucket bag, so easy to throw in glasses/wallet/phone and go.
The woven straw and grass textures are also popular. We love the neutral stripe on this one:
We are now carrying our own grass bag on our shop website. Each on has a different patterned lining in a contrasting color and print.
Fresh Towels
Linens are just something that need replaced every so often, and we found some that we are pretty excited about.
Currently obsessing over this assortment of Turkish towels we have been using a lot in our recent client installs and even in our own homes. Our favorite styles are the ones with the stripes (surprised anyone?). Our bath towels can double as beach towels for which feels just so efficient. Check them out on our shop website.
Summer Reading
What’s summer without some time spent reading by the pool or beach? Shandy does most of the joy reading around here, here’s what she’s read lately:
Where the Crawdad Sings – fascinating story about a girl who grows up alone on the marsh.
Rituals make life sweeter, and every Saturday morning Shandy enjoys her coffee on her blue sofa and reads through a French blog she loves. Leonce/Chenel covers travel, food inspiration, lifestyle articles along with fashion history and tips. The photos are beautiful and inspiring, a perfect Saturday morning trip across the world.
