Pendant lighting is the jewelry of the kitchen. It is our personal opinion that it should be a wow statement.
But just like Abby loves more dainty pieces of jewelry and I love oversize statement pieces, pendants can run the gamut as well.

Pendant Lighting Favorites
These pendants range in size from small to quite large. Large pendants are great for hanging one over a dining table or island. You could also hang two large pendants over an island that is around 10′ long. The smaller ones are great for a smaller island, but could also be used in other small spaces, like a little entry with high ceilings.
Black pendant lighting adds a little (or a lot!) of drama to your kitchen, but it also grounds a very light space.
We believe every room needs at least one touch of black somewhere in the design, and these lights are top of list in the black category.

While black lighting adds more modern and edge to a kitchen, brass adds drama with a classic, elegant twist.
Tips for Selecting Pendant Lighting
- Understand what scale of light you need for the size of your kitchen and your island. The 2/3 rule is a good place to start.
- Decide if the pendants will be the focal point or another light fixture in the space.
- Space them correctly: 30″ apart minimum, and 30″-36″ from bottom of light fixture to top of the counter
