Throughout design processes, our visit to market, and working on our own projects, we keep gravitating to certain things over and over again. Our top three favorite trends for this year are a specific shade of blue, stripes, along with channeling and pleating. The best part about the trends we are loving in 2021? They are also classics that stand the test of time.
Cornflower Blue
It seems we gravitate to anything blue, especially to the lighter hues. The cornflower blue color has been constantly showing up in our homes, client designs, and even our closets!
Helena Rug
Our favorite rug currently is the Helena in the Sky/Ash color way. We have it in the studio and have used variations of the style for clients. The soft blue is so light and airy, it just makes us smile every time we see it. You can order these through our design studio! Contact us to schedule an appointment.
Signature Beads
I think it’s safe to that we love our glass beads! Our favorite beads are in shades of blue because we find it to be versatile and easy to pair with other accessories while also adding a pop of color. You can shop different colorways and purchase them on our shop website!
Ginger Jars
Another staple favorite is of course, ginger jars! Like the beads, we use these pieces in so many ways. We love the unique patterns on each jar because they tell the story of the family who made them. Sometimes we use a single ginger jar, but also love the impact when they are grouped together.
Marc Jacobs Tote Bag
While doing a little online shopping, we spotted this Marc Jacobs tote bag from Nordstrom. It’s so chic in black, but we are even more obsessed with it in the blue color way!
Bandana Blues
A bandana or headscarf has become a go to accessory in our closet. This blue color works as a neutral and adds subtle color and a little print to our summer outfits.
Stripes
In both clothes and furnishings, stripes have been a favorite of ours for forever and always. We love them because they can add just the amount of print without being too overpowering. Plus, they are great to pattern mix with too!
Turkish Towel Throw
These striped throws add just the right amount of pattern to a sofa. We love their soft hand and the fringe. We added these to our shop website and as an added bonus they can double as a pool or beach towel!
Striped Chair
This pinstriped chair in Shandy’s room is one of our favorites. It is easy to layer in color or other prints which makes it a staple piece that will remain classic in any room.
Striped Button Down
We love a basic striped button down for its ability to be layered with almost any jacket or blazer in our closet. In the summer we opt for a t-shirt version that can be worn with some shorts, a neck scarf, and maybe even a hat! We love the quality and easy style of this one from Madewell
Cooler Tote Bag
If you are one for picnics or snacks at the pool, this insulated bag is a perfect. This tote from Anthroplogie is made from leftover striped umbrella canvas makes it eco-friendly while also giving it a great pattern and design. With the leather accents on the straps, you can transport a whole meal for your family and friends in style!
Channeling & Pleats
To say we are obsessed with the channeling trend, is an understatement. We saw so many fantastic pieces at market that we fell in love with and now we can’t get enough!
Channeled Headboard
Channeling has our hearts! Thats for sure! There were some stunning headboards at market but our favorites were definitely the ones with upholstered channeling. We love how the style brings texture to a wall and add dimension to a room.
Rippled Coup Glasses
How beautiful are these coup glasses? We are so excited to style them on our bar carts and use them when hosting parties and get togethers.
Plissé Purse
While doing some online shopping this summer, this simple cream plissé hand bag caught our eye. We love that the design is simple and classic. It makes this piece versatile and easily wearable with many outfits.
Pleated Bedding
What better way to add depth and contrast to your bedroom than choosing textured bedding. We love how just a simple pleated fabric can add so much without being overbearing.
